To earn and maintain The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval®, an organization undergoes an initial on-site survey by a Joint Commission survey team and recertification visits at least every two years. They assess the organization’s ability to provide competent staffing services and evaluate performance, continuing education and training, placement criteria, and other areas of the organization.
